Connect
the Nunchuk to the Wii Remote
and get ready. You've just
begun a journey into the most
immersive, heated gameplay
experience ever offered. This
combo offers the utmost
precision. They're your sword
and shield to defend Hyrule in
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight
Princess. They're your weapons
to blast your way through the
cramped corridors of Metroid
Prime 3: Corruption and the
gritty underworld of Red
Steel.
The Nunchuk and the motion
sensor contained within it are
the next leap in gaming. In
first-person shooters, the
controller carries the burden
of movement, freeing you to
aim and fire using a more
natural motion with the Wii
Remote. In an American
football game, you can make
your quarterback elusive with
the Nunchuk controller while
you look for an open receiver
to throw to using the Wii
Remote.
Controls:
Intuitive control for anyone
using the physical motion of
the main Wii Remote, which
resembles a television remote
control. Up to four Wii
Remotes can be connected at
once using wireless Bluetooth
technology. The wireless
signal can be detected within
10 metres of the console. Both
the Wii Remote and Nunchuk
include a three-axis motion
sensor. The Wii Remote also
includes a speaker, rumble
feature and expansion port,
and can be used as a pointer
within 5 metres of the screen.
The Wii Remote has a Power
switch, +Control Pad, A
Button, B Button, - Button, +
Button, Home Button and 1 and
2 Buttons. The Nunchuk

The
Look:
The Wii console features a
compact design that will make
it a natural addition to any
television setup. It can be
displayed either vertically or
horizontally.

A single self-loading media
bay will play single or
double-layered 12-centimetre
optical discs for the Wii
console, as well as
8-centimetre Nintendo GameCube
discs.
Communication:
The Wii console can
communicate with the Internet
even when the power is turned
off. This WiiConnect24 service
delivers a new surprise or
game update, even if users do
not play with Wii. Users can
connect wirelessly using IEEE
802.11b/g, or with a Wii LAN
adaptor. Wii also can
communicate wirelessly with
Nintendo DS.
Virtual Console:
Wii will have downloadable
access to 20 years of fan-favourite
titles originally released for
Nintendo 64, the Super
Nintendo Entertainment System
(SNES) and even the Nintendo
Entertainment System (NES).
The Virtual Console also will
feature a "best of" selection
from MEGADRIVE titles and
games from the TurboGrafx
console (a system jointly
developed by NEC and Hudson).
It also will be home to new
games conceived by indie
developers whose creativity is
larger than their budgets.
The
Specs:
The Wii console boasts 512
megabytes of internal flash
memory, two USB 2.0 ports and
built-in Wi-Fi capability. A
bay for an SD memory card will
let players expand the
internal flash memory. Design
was optimised with
state-of-the-art processing
technologies that minimise
power consumption, keep the
console compact and enable the
"sleepless" WiiConnect24 mode.
CPU:
PowerPC CPU (code-named
"Broadway"). Made with a 90 nm
SOI CMOS process, jointly
developed with and
manufactured by IBM.

Wireless
and motion-sensitive, the Wii
Remote offers an intuitive,
natural way to play games. The
ergonomic controller plays
into the conventional motions
you make everyday. When you
hit a drum, swing a tennis
racket or swing a bat; why
should you have to press a
button to replicate these
things? With the Wii Remote,
you can use everyday motions
to help make you the centre of
the game.
Nintendo designed the Wii
Remote to be the most
multifaceted gaming device
ever. It can be a sword in one
game and then a steering wheel
for racing games. It's your
paintbrush, your golf club,
your aeroplane, but most of
all, it's your key to
unlocking a world of fun
you've never imagined.
Get
your hands on the Wii Zapper
and transform the way you
play. By slotting the Wii
Remote and Nunchuk into the
Wii Zapper, you can take the
experience of playing
certain games to a new level
while still tapping into all
the unique features of both
Wii controllers.
Primarily designed for use
with first-person action
games, the Wii Zapper puts
you on the front-line in
shooting games, utiliising
the Wii Remote's
motion-sensing capabilities,
rumble feature and speaker
to offer an immersive
experience. The comfortable
design also means you can
easily control the in-game
action with the Nunchuk
Control Stick.
The Wii Zapper comes bundled
with Link's Crossbow
Training.
The
Wii Component Cable links
your Wii console to your TV,
allowing you to view and
enjoy your games with the
best possible image display.
Component video splits the
signal into three separate

information for the ultimate
connection quality.
The cable includes five
connectors - three for
video, and two for left and
right stereo audio. Cable
length is approximately 2.5
metres.
Before using the Wii
Component Cable, make sure
your TV can accept component
video connections - they are
usually marked Y, PB, PR and
are coloured green, blue and
red.
The
Wii RGB Cable links your Wii
console to your TV, allowing
you to view and enjoy your
games with an enhanced image
display.
RGB video splits the signal
into three separate channels
of video information for
improved connection quality.
The cable includes a Euro AV
plug (SCART) for video and
stereo audio output. Cable
length is approximately 2.5
metres.
Before using the Wii RGB
Cable, make sure your TV has
a Euro AV terminal (SCART)
that accepts RGB input
The
Wii Points Card is an
alternative method of
obtaining Wii Points.
Instead of using a credit
card to buy Wii Points
online through the Wii Shop
Channel. Each card has a
scratch-off panel revealing
an activation code that you
input in the Wii Shop
Channel to redeem your
points.
Wii Points can be redeemed
in the Wii Shop Channel to
make online purchases such
as downloadable Virtual
Console games.
Wii
connects to the Internet
wirelessly; however if you
do not have a wireless
Internet connection, the Wii
LAN Adapter allows you to
connect your Wii console to
the Internet via a LAN cable
connection.
The Wii LAN Adapter connects
to one of the two USB ports
on the rear of the Wii
console, providing a
connection point for a LAN
cable (sold separately)
leading to your broadband
modem.
By connecting Wii to the
Internet you can benefit
from downloadable Virtual
Console games via the Wii
Shop Channel, news and
weather updates in the News
and Forecast Channels, and
messaging functions in the
Wii Message Board.
Enjoy
Virtual Console games the way
they were meant to be played.
The Classic Controller blends
design elements from
Nintendo's classic video game
controllers, such as the NES,
Super Nintendo and Nintendo
64, into one comfortable
control pad.
The Classic Controller is
connected to the Wii Remote by
a short cable. The Wii Remote
provides the Controller with a
wireless connection to the Wii
console.
The Classic Controller is
primarily used for playing
Virtual Console games
available for download from
the Wii Shop Channel. Some Wii
Disc games also use the
Classic Controller. Look on
the back of Wii game packaging
to see which games are
compatible.
